I have a “sketch” about Rogers City, Michigan, You Can’t Go to Town and Back in Less Than Two Hours, published on the Great Lakes Review’s website. They are collecting such nonfiction essays about places all over the Great Lakes region and have pinned each essay on a “narrative map.”

Living in a small Ontario community above the North Channel of Lake Huron, your account sounds very familiar. So many small communities struggle as big business controls the flow & need of resources and labour. Community and family life are collateral damage as the economy adjusts to change.
