A poem of mine was published a couple of days ago on the blog of Silver Birch Press, which is running a series of self-portrait poetry for the month of August:
Self-Portrait as Dog with a Mouthful of Feathers, poem by Kathryn Almy (Self-Portrait Poetry Series).
I’ve been enjoying reading the other poems in this series. A couple that stand out are:
Love Letter No. 1: To My Pit-Bull Self, poem by Sarah Thursday (Self-Portrait Poetry Series). (speaking of dogs)
Pieces Make the Whole, poem by Denise R. Weuve (Self-Portrait Poetry Series).
And yesterday, I was excited to see a poem by another Kalamazooan!:
Half-Fish Daughter, poem by Rosa Swartz (Self-Portrait Poetry Project).
Hello Kathryn, I have two blogs, one of which is a collaborative project on self portraits:

I would very much like to include your poem you mention here should you give me permission. I would credit you and link back to your blog, and elsewhere if you wish.
Did you also take the photo of the dog and feathers?
Hoping you will agree,
Ashley Lily 🙂
Ashley,
I would be honored to have my poem included on your blog! It would be nice if you would also link back to Silver Birch Press, where it was originally published (http://silverbirchpress.wordpress.com/). I did not take the photo; you would have to check with the editors of Silver Birch Press about that.
Best wishes,
Kathryn
Thank you, Kit, Yes, I’ll also link back to Silver Birch Press – that’s how I found you.
No problem about the photo, it’s not necessary. I’ll let you know when you’re posted.
I’m glad that you are happy to contribute. 🙂
It’s posted today. Kathryn. 🙂
